Creative Ausländer is a talk show where Idil sit down with immigrant artists in Berlin to hear their stories: raw, real, and inspiring.
In this episode, Idil is joined by her friend PEK. PEK is a Berlin-based singer-songwriter and director, originally from Istanbul. A former pianist, she turned to songwriting in 2019 as a way to heal and process life’s twists. PEK’s music combines emotional depth with atmospheric sounds, blending vulnerability and empowerment.
Together, they dive into what creativity means to her, how Berlin has shaped her work, and the ways creativity can carry through change. As both host and guest are originally from Turkey, the conversation naturally turns toward the political unrest back home. Started in March with the arrest of the main opposition leader, the ongoing protests are the largest since the Gezi movement in 2013.
